Sunday, July 19, 2009 – “Wheels on the Farm”

I took this photo the same day as “In the Garden” using my iPhone while at my husband’s Grandmother’s house. Just goes to show you don’t always need a fancy smancy camera to come out with something beautiful and artistic.

Post processing in PSE 7 duplicate layer overlay, high saturation/contrast, white foreground to transparent radial gradient overlay with a black vignette to finish.

Monday, July 20, 2009 – “Would You Like a Pear”

This is another shot I snapped while at Grandma’s house in Wimer, Oregon this last week.

As in the previous two posts, my little iPhone camera came to the rescue here when I had realized that I had forgotten all of my other cameras.  Grandma has quite a few of these pear trees scattered around the garden.  Lovely, each and every one of them.

Taken with my iPhone, post processing in PSE 7, hue and saturation adjustments to pears, saturation/contrast adjustment to full frame.  Duplicate layer overlay x two, with a black vignette 250 feather and a foreground to transparent white radial overlay to top it off.  Accented edges filter on top.

Tuesday, July 21, 2009 – “Puddle Shadow”

I love rainy spring days.  I snapped this shot with my Sony Cyber Shot in the back of the Newspaper Office where my husbands works.  I stopped by to bring him a mocha and saw this opportunity.  This is exactly the reason I never go anywhere without one of my cameras. 

Wednesday, July 22, 2009 – “Rest”

Claire has been one of my favorite models to work with. Not only is she stunningly beautiful but she’s got a sparkling personality that shines for miles. I have a batch of photos from our April shoot still unedited, this was in the bunch. I believe you will be seeing the last half dozen of these shortly on POTD.

I look forward to doing another shoot with Claire in the fall.

So quaint.  So lively.  It make my heart go weee for the home I grew up in.

Saturday, July 25, 2009 – “Wild West”

It’s so bizarre sometimes the series of events that roll.

Susanne and I recently took some abstract portraits at this location; the historic location of the old Redwood Nursery in Grants Pass, Oregon.

I wanted to do something a bit different than my normal with these, a little more dark, foreboding maybe. I did everything in black in white with just the splash of red. I also brought out a lot of the texture in the wood.

This location had been abandoned for years and was falling apart.

Sadly, it just became the victim of arson, burnt completely to the ground.

I was one of the last photographers in the area to use it as location. =(

Sad.
