Q: What is this site about?
A: More than anything, this site is about art and photography. It’s a place to look at things differently, to take normal sights seen and transform them into something surreal and unworldly. As an artist I work with bright, bold, saturated colors. Even my black and white pieces come high contrast.
I’m also quite addicted to social networking and love to make new connections. If you’re a fellow artist or just want a new friend, feel free to contact me at any of the places listed below. Add me and I’ll add you back. #KAPOW!
Where is Kapow?
Q: Who are you?
A: I’m a 28 year old woman from Southern Oregon. I’ve been a photographer seriously since 1999. I do portraiture for income but my passion lies in post processing manipulation of art print quality photos. I’m married to a writer and podcastor, Stephen Winters aka The Pointgiver. I work my days away in the Financial Industry hoping to someday surround myself in my passion full time.
A: How are you creating these photos?
Q: Shhh, that’s a secret! Hehehe. I do give away some PSD and PSE tricks in my photo tech blog but my style will remain a unique mystery. I will say that I shoot on a Canon Rebel Xti DSLR mostly in RAW format and work on my desktop between PSD, PSE and Essentials. I carry an additional camera with me everywhere I go, since it’s sometimes unconventional to lug my Canon around. My pocket cam is a 12.1 mpx Sony Cyber-shot. This is my second Cyber-shot. I’ve found them wonderful to work with in split second, spur of the moment circumstances.
Q: Are you selling anything?
A: Why yes I am! ShopKapow is live as of January 1st, 2010. Visit the shop here for everything from fine art prints to Kapow hoodies and calendars.
