Around these parts, meaning the internet, I’m known as Katie Kapow.
10 Facts About Katie Kapow:
#1: I’ve been involved in photography since I was 15.
#2: I’ve been involved with digital photography for the last 3 years.
#3: I see the world very differently from most. Someone could, say, look at a tree and see a tree. I might look at it and see the way the colors and surrounding landscape might make the tree look strong, or towering, or even tiny. It’s an emotional experience, looking at the world through my eyes, for a number of reasons I won’t get into here. As such, when I look, I emote and assign emotion. I can’t help it. It’s what I do best.
#4: I punch colors. Photoshop is just another tool in the kit of the modern artist, and I employ it liberally. Purists may argue that the resulting shot is impossible, but I argue that my photography isn’t about what purists, or anyone else for that matter, sees. It’s about what I see. Kapow!!!
#5: I have a strong network of online friends that I rely on to keep me amused/inspired throughout the course of the average day. I love them dearly.
#6: This site, my other sites, and indeed much of what you see here wouldn’t have existed without the hard work and support of my husband, the Pointgiver. I love him dearly, and I’m pretty sure he repays the favor in abundance.

#8: Since April 12th of this year, every day I’ve worked hard to make a photographic “post of the day.” It’s my 365 project. Each week I recap those photos at my blog, Katie Kapow Dot Com. I will continue to do this until at least this year is over.
#9: I love kittens and rats. I own several of each, and sometimes talk and/or photograph them a lot.
